Future job security.
Last week, I did a double-take when we pulled hot dogs out of the freezer for a lunch barbecue. The box proudly advertised "fully cooked turkey weiners." I searched multiple dictionaries, and sure enough, the "weiner" was nowhere to be found, though dictionary.com had a FAQ entry on it that categorized it as an "(erroneous) spelling variant." The old "i before e except after c" might not always apply, but it definitely does here.

I hope you never have to resort to editing food labels. Though, when I first saw this post, I thought you were going to discuss living in the box. So I suppose editing the label would be a step up from that.
Truth...though I also hope I don't end up proofing labels...
